He obviously needs to finish strong or we are back to square 1. Also I think his new body style might mitigate age related decline concerns.
I caught your exchange with Divish on Twitter.....Divish is patently wrong imo, the odd thing about Divish is he isn't even a baseball fan by his own admission and for the most part seems like a Benzedrine Puff-Adder every-time someone engages him and asks a tricky question yet he fawns all over management like they can do no wrong.
If Seager finishes strong works hard in the off season and starts hot and we eat enough salary we will be able to shift him for a prospect or two. Looking at his numbers this doesn't look like a fluke season for him and I posted his heat-map the other day and because he has his second highest BB% ever he is making pitchers throw it more over the middle. His spray chart is also better which will eventually second guess the shifts if he keeps that up, it will be interesting to see how this plays out over the next 13 months.
Edit:One other point no one seems to be thinking about is that the poison pill clause can be waived if Seager so desires so if a contender was interested and provided Seager is receptive to waiving it it could be done.
