Ok, got it. I totally missed that. I kind of scan over Donn's quotes. lol
I would invest upwards of one million dollars for a back of the rotation relief pitcher specializing in striking out blind batters. The other $15 million I'd definitely spend on a new scoreboard

They can't afford another Scoreboard. They need to fund the hot dogs from heaven and Dudes dressing up in fish Costumes and racing around the field!

Believe Sasaki would cost more like $8 mil
Sasaki is a league min per year for the 1st couple of years.

Right but they can give him a signing bonus up to the total of their international pool allocation. Right now we only have 19k but it jumps to at least 7.5M January 15th

I see that most of the podcast M's guys have picked up Adam Jude's X as gospel.

Even if you accept it, package up Haniger with a prospect and you save a majority of that salary. That gets you into the neighborhood of 30, 35, 40M

Trade for Vlad 29M (Farmelo is fine)
Sign Sasaki MLB min
Trade Hanniger and Woo (50M, -15M.5 trade calc. (34.5M total value) for Cards Brendan Donavan 2B and Nolan A. 3B (+24.1M, and -22M trade calc +32M$ (34.1M total value) The cash would be 15M in year 1, 12M in year 2, and 5M in tear 3. Nolan would be at 12M, 10M, and 10M over the next 3 years.
2B Donavan 4M
3B Nolan 12M
Bye-bye Mitch and -17.5M

We started at about 146M for 2025
After: +26.4M to 172.4M

1. Robles RF
2. JRod CF
3. Vlad 1B
4. Cal** C
5. Raley* DH
6. Randy LF
7. Donavan* 2B
8. Nolan A. 3B
9. JP* SS

Trade Haniger = Take a bust to Neptune. Easier said than Done. $17.5 M for a prospect.

Yeah the international pool money used for Sasaki wouldn't be coming from the payroll budget other than his ML minimum salary. There is the issue of the two other prospects it had already been targeted for. Had meant to bring that up before, sorta in the wrong thread

I'm taking them at their word that they are shooting for a bounce back from Haniger

Which in no way, shape or form is going to happen. He's done. Two bad years in a row at his age in an injury-plagued career? Any team thinking he'll "bounce back" is stupid.
