Thanks for the addition but Position players don't show up a day before the first game. lol Some come the same time pitchers do and the rest straggle in the next few days..

So Lux and Moncada.
Fits Jerry's obsession with former top prospect reclamation projects.
As I've highlighted a number of times in my off season plans... Moncada is a very good 3B... just has to stay healthy which he hasn't been able to do. He recently stopped playing in the Puerto Rican due to fouling a ball off his foot.
Lux put up .937 and .884 OPS months of July and August last year.
It's low-cost upside... but a big gamble.

Looks like Lux is staying as a starter and Kim is the UT so he is out. I am warming up a bit to your Yoan idea. I just hope he doesn't make me Groan. lolSeattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 8:06 pmSo Lux and Moncada.

General manager Brandon Gomes downplayed the notion that adding Kim will spur another trade. “I think it’s more that we’re adding a really talented player, and [then we’ll] see where things play out,” Gomes told reporters (including Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times). “It’s helpful to have really strong pieces at a lot of different areas. So that’s how we’re viewing it right now.” He added that the team’s “mindset” remains a middle infield pairing of Mookie Betts at shortstop and Gavin Lux at second base.

Not saying they won't keep Lux... but they now have Lux, Edman, Kim, Taylor, Betts, Rojas who are technically middle infielders.

This came up in my news feed. I'm not sure how credible it is, but it reads like reporting more than blogging.
https://www.si.com/mlb/yankees/news/sou ... -gavin-lux
Anyway, it gives credence to the idea that the Dodgers are at least somewhat willing to move Gavin Lux, though I'm not sure why unless they're super duper confident that Kim is the future at 2B.
My opinion: Lux would work but they shouldn't overpay for him. He's no great prize and he's been injured quite a bit.

There's Dodgers fans thinking they are going to get Luis Castillo straight up for Lux...GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 9:21 pmThis came up in my news feed. I'm not sure how credible it is, but it reads like reporting more than blogging.

I suppose winning World Titles and having $400 million payrolls doesn't mean your fans have much of a clue.

The Mariners would have to be more interested in dropping Castillo's salary than they've so far indicated, which is possible I suppose. But even there, it would have to be Lux + Prospects for Castillo.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 9:29 pmThere's Dodgers fans thinking they are going to get Luis Castillo straight up for Lux...GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 9:21 pmThis came up in my news feed.
