Well, France to the Twins. Not that a reunion was likely, but it's still sad to see a former All Star dim, fade and then move onto another gig.

Is a 37 yo Solano better than France? They just make moves to make moves.
Placate the base.

“See? We made some moves.”.

It’s like replacing Double Bubble with Bubble Yum in the dugout. The bubbles are the same size, and the flavor is the same, and they get stale and chompy at the same rate.

Zero sum game. But at least you can say that you did something.

And the kicker is that they keep saying it every year and it never happens. I'd like to say it's because they don't learn, but it's really just sunken cost and they're hoping for a miracle out of the money that's already been wasted.
Palanco wasn't a sunken cost
Haniger and Garver are. I know how much you love to be contrarian for the sake of it, but come on, that was a Vogelbomb-class post right there.
Not sure about being contraian, it's just that one was volunteered

About six or seven years ago at a softball tournament a bunch of us opened packs of 1987 Topps baseball cards, and whoever had the shittiest player had to eat the gum. I lost decisively when I pulled out a Domingo Ramos.

That damn gum literally disintegrated about one second after I popped it into my mouth, and I'm thinking that's more the gum being exchanged here.

Mets are cutting ties with Inglesias.
If the Mariners were smart they'd be all over that.
But they are not that smart.

What do you make of his Home/Away splits last year?

Seems like he had Citi Field figured out at least.

Maybe now Casas becomes more available. Although I think they already fixed their pitching too...

40 mill/year - jeez that's a massive overpay. At least the years are short...but maybe he'll be helped by the short LF.

He's averaged about $40 Million a year in value the last three seasons.
