Yeah, that's my point, some here seem unhappy with it, if we need a GM with real accountably it would mean dealing with the owner doesn't it? And the current owner is in fact required to sell the team to a new owner, a pretty unusual aspect really. I view it somewhat like the Mariners. I kinda view that ownership group as custodians, they saved the team from being moved but get blamed by fans for not really being interested in an aggressive approach. In my mind Jody is very much a custodian, its basically her job title. I am not complaining about it but seems to me you have MM and JS now trying to create a post PC Seahawk culture. Why spend the next 3-4 years or whatever working on it with the reality of a new owner on the horizon to come in and want to apply their stamp to the organization anyway?douche wrote: ↑Thu Sep 11, 2025 2:51 pmLast time I checked, Jody was the owner. She's the one who signed JS, and he's the one who hired MM. They're all accountable to her.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 10:34 pmActually trying to please Michael, he doesn't seem to feel there is enough accountability. It would need to come from the owner wouldn't it
In terms of selling the team, does anyone know what the timeline is? And a new owner doesn't necessarily mean it will be better. Remember the Ken Behring years?
I keep getting criticized as a soft seattle fan that isn't willing to look behind the curtain at who is pulling the levers or whatever. OK, lets press Jody to fulfill her brother's wishes. What's the point? Well there was a lot of public pressure for her to sell the Blazers in Portland and lo and behold they got sold, so who knows. Terms of better or worse, that isn't the issue, the issue is it inevitable so lets get on with it. But I will say this, the era of the Ken behrings of the world owning ML sports teams is over. They are way too fucking expensive these days. It's more likely a cooperate sort of approach but even then, the Dodgers are owned by a consortium, they wheel and deal pretty effectively.
Terms of the timeline, she had commented on it taking 10-20 years, though estate lawyers have questioned 20 years. Like i said, what's the hold up? It's been characterized as estate lawyers establishing value, again where is the hard part. I think its the rapidly increasing value. Her fiduciary responsibility is to get as much value as possible for his estate so does that mean waiting to sell
