What is this schedule you're talking about that? I'm not aware of any prospect that has an actual schedule for arrival in the major leagues.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Oct 10, 2025 5:25 pmfor what its worth in terms of his projected schedule that's what it says. He isn't making out of spring training but seems like it would impact your longer term roster decisions depending on where they think he would play. i did actually see an article projecting Bellinger to the Mariners as well as one doing it for Schwarber. As unlikely as those moves would be seems to me they would be less likely with Montes on the horizon.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 10, 2025 5:02 pmMontes is 20 years old and he hit .213 in AA this year. The Bellinger was touted in terms of his ability to play first. It was funny though, it was like a backup plan for not being able to re-sign Naylor. So instead they give Bellinger $180 mil.

It is just an estimate. I don't see a problem with it. If Laz hits in AA no reason he won't make his debut late next season.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sat Oct 11, 2025 12:11 amThat's nonsense.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Oct 10, 2025 11:24 pmHaven't you seen these ETAs???

Yeah, I expect Dipoto and Hollander to go hard in on the pen. Time to invest a little capital on another closer type. But as for leadoff, I'd be surprised if Robles doesn't settle back into that spot once the team heads back to ST. He's the best fitHawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 10, 2025 5:09 am
Add depth to the pen. Yeah I'm just tired of the over swinging & I love Randy believe me I do. But your leadoff guy's gotta set the tone for the rest of the lineup. Get on, swipe second, then move him over to 3rd. It's just tiring seeing these guys come up in clutch situations only to have them strikeout in spectacular fashion. People keep saying teams won't move young guys. How bad does KC need pitching probably, we are stacked to the gills with pitching. I guarantee you offer them 1 of our top infielders to go along with a pitcher or 2 & I guarantee they'd at least listen. Garcia does not strike out, makes hard contact, has better defense & is faster to boot. All things you want in a player. You can never have enough speed on the basepaths. I'm not saying it's possible but at least inquire, wouldn't hurt. Again TB never signs their guys long term.
Re: Way too early offseason
If u expect that then u don't know Dip... the bullpen is a distant afterthought for him . Anyone can be a bullpen arm as far as he's concerned .Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Sat Oct 11, 2025 12:27 amYeah, I expect Dipoto and Hollander to go hard in on the pen. I can't believe nobody is talking about him thinking the M's could acquire Caminero
22 year old who just hit 45 homers, is making nothing, and is controlled for the next 6 years on one of the cheapest teams in baseball.

If the season has taught me anything, it’s that the Mariners are not gonna go after superstar free agents and sign them to huge lucrative contracts.
The fact that we made it this far in a postseason must be vindication for Dipoto. His business model seems to be based on developing a couple of homegrown stars and signing them to medium sized contracts (Julio, Cal) Then, go through the bargain basement bin and sign a bunch of.middling former stars or guys who are having down seasons to small contracts (Polanco). Then acquire a couple of decent pants at the trade deadline without spending too much (Geno, Naylor).
We got further in the postseason than either the Yankees or the Mets, who have spent huge amounts of money to acquire superstars. So yeah, I don’t think the Mariners are gonna go after any big names in the off-season. Why would they?

Re: Way too early offseason
couple?...there is some pitcher developed as well isn't there? Believe you could also argue the model is to create a complete team. That's what I see, its a deep lineup, the defense is good. The pitching is good, both starting and relief.Big_Maple wrote: ↑Sat Oct 11, 2025 5:18 pmIf the season has taught me anything, it’s that the Mariners are not gonna go after superstar free agents and sign them to huge lucrative contracts.
