The official Hot Stove League Thread 2025-26 Offseason
Re: The official Hot Stove League Thread 2025-26 Offseason
Sodo comes up with three Donovan trades. I would do the first two but probably not the 3rd one.

I'd only do the first one. Colt, Farmelo, and Sloan are my only untouchables on the farm for me.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Dec 05, 2025 3:50 pmSodo comes up with three Donovan trades. I would do the first two but probably not the 3rd one.

I am OK with the tradePharmabro wrote: ↑Fri Dec 05, 2025 7:41 amBP with additions:
Cl. Munoz
SU. Matt Brash
LH. Speier, Ferrer
RH. Buzzardo, Hancock, Vargas, Rogers
My assumptions here would be that you are taking a guy that should be better than his traditional stats suggest who has good stuff and you are banking on a bit of a confidence boost by pitching in T mobile increasing his performance to where it should be based on stuff and FIP. And because he is pre-arb he would be an MLB min guy. This allows you to spend pretty big on Tyler Rogers.
Rogers is not a swing and miss guy and to me that limits him in the $ potential And age (opinion). He has been really good though so would a 2 X 9M with an opt out with a 1M buyout work? That was the MLBTR guesstimate.
I am a a little concerned that we are parting a premium price on a Sabre developmental guy for the control years vs a guy like Duran who has a proven record of dominance.

Over the last 3 years he averages less than 2.4 WAR, 12 HR, 13 SB and 9 Caught per year. He is a decent player who is a god defender and is capable of playing multiple positions. He is not a game changer.

Good question, but my guess is probably not cheap, or we'd have him by now. The fact that he could literally fill in defensively just about anywhere on the diamond including his bat is envy-worthy.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 11:35 pmI with you. I don’t see them getting anymore BP guys unless adding to heap, they need one or two with options for those times BP get used a lot.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 11:22 pmI am OK with the tradePharmabro wrote: ↑Fri Dec 05, 2025 7:41 amBP with additions:

I have the same memories you have, there is nothing that cries out pure Americana like Rockwell!Big_Maple wrote: ↑Tue Nov 04, 2025 11:19 pmAlways loved his realism and detail. The one of him painting his own self-portrait is classic.
I remember lots of Rockwell pics in the doctor's and dentist's offices when I was a kid. Is that just me? I have a specific memory of getting a filling when I was a kid and staring at a Rockwell taped to the ceiling.
Drowned out the sound of the dentist drill.
Boy, do I get wistful for the good old days.
In America.
