Free Agents - Cap Space - who stays, who's gone
Re: Free Agents - Cap Space - who stays, who's gone
I'd like to see JS do some outside-the-box moves, like signing Bradford to a ten year, $40 mill a year deal. Hear me out! In year 9 it'll look like a bargain! Catch everyone completely off-guard. Maybe trade JSN for two or three first rounders - I'm looking at you, NY Jets! I don't want $40 million a year wide receivers. I really don't. HIs production can be replaced and I do not see another 1700 yard season coming from him. It's an outlier. Love him, but the cost is too steep - unless the cap hit is closer to 20.

Rasheed's $14 mil seems a little more reasonable now

Who's gonna give up 2 1sts for him? Yeah 40 million is crazy. Not only should there be a cap for teams but there should also be a position cap, don't know how that would work? You mean to tell me a guy who doesn't get probably 50% of the targets deserves 40 million a season, fuck no. RB touch the ball more than WRs. Yes love JSN I do but 40 million is absolute insanity. Sell high when you can, just like stocks. Maybe a rather large signing bonus would help alleviate some of that cap hit.auroraave wrote: ↑Sat Feb 21, 2026 5:54 pmI'd like to see JS do some outside-the-box moves, like signing Bradford to a ten year, $40 mill a year deal. Yes. But a qb on a rookie contract. So, not the same.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Feb 21, 2026 5:29 pmRW's contract cost the Broncos $53 mil last season and $32 mil this one and yet they were able to field a number one seed, it can be done

40 million for JSN. No thanks. Tag him. Let him hold out and show if he is a team guy or not. I think not. He will hold out. He wanted that highest paid comment out there. He wouldn’t have addressed it if not.

Sauce got traded for two firsts. So I think several teams would give two firsts for him.HawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 21, 2026 7:27 pmWho's gonna give up 2 1sts for him? Yeah 40 million is crazy. Hell no for 40 million.

Trade JSN after next season. Heck, do it sooner if he becomes a problem.

Yeah it's not the same, he didn't play, they cut him, that was dead money. They were able to field a number one seed after wasting that amount of money on a player that didn't play .Gametime wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 6:29 amYes. But a qb on a rookie contract. Regarding JSN - I'm still waiting for someone to prove me wrong.
The interview JSN gave where he said he wanted to be the highest paid WR in no way means the Seahawks
will be paying him anywhere near $40 mil in 2026. He's still on his rookie contract. I think they will 5th year
option him and then have talks at the end of 2026. JS doesn't give in to players who are still on contract.
I honestly think JSN is talking about 2028 as his goal to become the highest-paid WR in the league. He just
turned 24yo. He's not stupid or unreasonable.

Re: Free Agents - Cap Space - who stays, who's gone
This is why players give up giving interviews. So what if he feels like he should be the NFLs highest paid receiver. Why shouldn't he feel that way? This isn't about greed, it's about competitiveness. He's not supposed to feel like he's the best? He's worked all his life for this, now he is there, the NFLs offensive player of the year. You think JS is losing sleep over this? All he is doing is congratulating him. JS has it covered, I've no concerns at all. JSN is offensive player of the year, JS is executive of the year.
