I'd be happy to have Arraez in the lineup but replacing Young with him you're spinning your wheels. Their war is virtually identical. What's the point of spending trade capital on that? He'd be an interesting target but find him someplace else to play.
The mariners are 12-6 in games where they scored three runs. I'd say that indicates some value in their defense.
This along with a six man rotation? That be pretty wild.
Per a post on "X" from Seattle Times reporter Adam Jude, Seattle has considered the idea of bullpen including Anderson and Sloan for the final stretch of the season.
If the Mariners were to bring up Sloan and Anderson for that purpose, it would give the M's a bullpen including those two, lefties Gabe Speier and Jose A. Ferrer and righties Matt Brash, Eduard Bazardo and Andres Munoz
I don't believe it would be spinning their wheels as if one 2 WAR player is the same as another despite their on paper numbers.
We need offense because we don't score enough and only have a limited number of places to add bats.
And a second basemans defense would NEVER stop me from adding a bat.
Yes, I know it would stop the Mariners. That's why they can't score enough runs and lose.
They're 26-6 when they score 5+. Focus on that.
I'd be a hard NO on those two in the bullpen personally. How poorly did Dipoto do on roster construction that they'd even consider it.
We have 100 SP's, no bats, and a meh bullpen. Seems like something they could have fixed in the offseason when we all knew that's exactly what they had.
Pitching has a lot more to do with our success in low scoring games than defense.
