I don't know, I'm happy with him. I think he's the right guy for the job, leading this team. But to answer your previous question, Darnold led the league in TOs, that's really the issue. That particular stat is what's impacting his not being higher. He had a defense that would bail his ass out on a regular basis. I think he'd be the first to admit to that. If he's playing with a mediocre defense maybe we are here complaining about needing another QB, who knows

How many TOs did he have in the playoffs when it really matters?

He was great in the playoffs but it all matters. I don't know if they make the playoffs with a mediocre defense. And if they don't make the playoffs are we still viewing Darnold in the same light?

In three games against the Rams he won two.
Was 76 of 114 67% for 895 with 5 TDs and 6 INTs. So so, right?
Lights were at their brightest in the NFCCG and he was 25 of 36 69% with 3 TDs and 0 INTs.

So, Donn is probably right....if they don't make the playoffs we aren't talking about him like this. BUT....they did make the playoffs, and he proceeded to help them win a ring.

He was a high draft pick for a reason, and had limited success because he wasn't surrounded by enough talent. Ask Viking fans if they think they are better off now? This team probably wins the Super Bowl with a lot of those QBs ranked in that list, but the thing is....they won it with Sam and that is all we know for certain.

Hugh Millen did an analysis of Darnold's decision-making with regard to pass attempts and determined that the risk of interception inherent in his throws was justified by the rewards from pushing the ball downfield aggressively, and i agree. It seemed to indicate also that he trusted his receivers, which was good thing because they generally proved themselves worthy of it.

Good stuff. Can't wait to see the results this season in year 2 with them...
