agree with Michael K on this one. I was yelling at my TV when the announcers were getting on Dissley. In college, the clock stops until the chains are set, which is usually enough time for the offense to get lined up. In the NFL, it only stops long enough for the ref to toss the ball to the other ref and put it down.

Which is bad enough, but the point out that Russ yells at him, then don't say Jack about the fact that the clock stops all the way until the snap after his deep shot. Sometimes I wonder if these guys go home, rewatch their broadcast and realize how dumb they sound? I assume Russ knows the rules. My guess is if he was talking about going out of bounds, he pointed out how he can no longer do that? But, at the very least, these announcers should have pointed out the clock ran on Dissly's play, not Russ'.

Doesn't that say the clocks stops until the ball is spotted??? Basically same as a first down in college ball which is always pointed out as a big help to offenses trying to beat the clock.

It was about five seconds. Go back and watch the play. It is nothing like college, and the clock stopped until the next snap after the deep ball. Kind of stupid to chew out a TE for wasting five seconds when you wasted about 40 seconds and created a second and ten on the next snap! They announcers had just finished bitching about it when the clock started rolling. We easily let the play clock run down, burned plenty of time, then threw a ridiculous bomb to Lockett to stop the clock. Genius. Yeah, Dissly is the dumb one.

Got it. I had no idea Wilson chewed him out. Yes, totally agree on the bomb. Nuts.
