Sloan is undervalued by BTV. He is by far our best pitching prospect and I think we should keep him to replace Castillo in 2028 or even 2027. Throw Arroyo in there instead to replace Donovan in INF for the Cards.

This will allow them to have a stable vet that they can move around the infield while they try to work in Emerson, Young, Williamson Arroyo etc. over the next couple of years. This is especially important if JP leaves following this season. I hate to give up both Sloan and Cijnite but the Cardinals are in desperate need of pitching prospects so I think this would be more likely to be accepted than a bunch of position prospects.

Yes on the first 2, no on the 3rd. You get your OF you get your DH/1B & a lights out lefty for the pen. Offseason complete there.

Yeah... no team is trading 2x top 100 arms for a 3ish WAR utility player in Arb 2.

Of note, Donovan is represented by Drew Bledsoe and his brother who live in Bend.

This is the ongoing issue I see with Jurrangelo Cijntje, the misconception. I don't believe his switch pitching should be an aspect to his evaluation in the first place. I don't believe it was a factor in them drafting him

Perhaps not but they sure hyped it up. He has sucked as a lefty and a LHP vs. a LH hitter is the biggest advantage in baseball so yeah, I would think they would just put in a LH reliever whenever he is about to face a Lefty if he has thrown any where near his pitch limit.

Where did they hype it up? That's from when they drafted him, seems pretty accurate

Terms of bringing in a leftie, there's the three hitter rule, they need to be a pretty reliable leftie these days. I don't think it ever be like he's pitching to righties with one hand and lefties the other. But there could be some match-up advantages if he improved leftie. It could be about like 3rd time through the lineup sort of deal. You're changing hands the second or third time facing certain batters

He is only giving up a .259 BAA vs. Lefties but a horrific 39 walks in 40 innings giving him a 1.98 WHIP vs lefties. Maybe that can be fixed or it at least improved. An elite .171 BAA and 0.78 WHIP vs righties.

Why do you suppose the prospect rankings don't seem to agree with that? MLB has him ranked 44th while Cade Anderson is 9th. (Felix was #3 in 2005 BTW) Bleacher Report has Sloan at 80, Roto Prospects has him at 56.
Not saying your wrong. Just curious to know why you think so much more highly of him than the so called experts.
